The Selfiedad saga
The Selfie started way back in early 2016 when one day I was sitting on my couch and noticed some crude comments after one of my daughters selfies. Since arguing would be ridiculous, I decided to something that would lighten the mood of the post but also, let the kids know that her dad was watching, so I imitated the same selfie and simply posted it under her photo.
It got a laugh and did exactly what I wanted.
Days later, I saw her post another selfie and did it again. After that, it became somewhat of a challenge to replicate her selfies.
She never really minded and thought they were funny also. Since she wasn't living at home at the time, this was our weird way of communicating.
One day, a website got a hold of the photo and in 3 days we were on thousands of websites. I was receiving calls and emails from all over the World. The fun thing is, it's still going. Some countries are just now noticing the photos.
While its been amazing to be able to talk to people all over the World, I know sooner or later, the fad will get old and our 15 minutes will be up, but until then, I will always have this "adventure" that we shared.
“Burr blends quick humor, crowd-savvy timing, and genuine warmth to make every event memorable.”
